We got it bad tonight.
Nothing really feels alright.
But when I saw that pain and called your name
You know we’ll be just fine.
I felt it too.
Shake it off and lace your boots.
We gonna call the gang and do our thing
Until we make it through.
Shadows move around us.
And the lights flicker off and on.
And we don’t feel bad we dance
To the beat of a different drum.
Everybody’s got a lonely soul.
Try to fill it up with something beautiful.
No matter what, you’ve gotta carry on.
In the end I want a rock & roll funeral.
You got loved and lost.
Now you’re dealing with a tender heart.
Tonight let’s go and shake the hell out of what we got.
And if you want, we can find a little place to haunt.
And while the bottle’s getting lighter,
All the buttons come undone.
And when you just can’t hear the music.
And you feel out of place in the night.
Well you know that we’re always here
And we’re ready to share a light.
Some lonely days will come
And they will go without a sound.
So just hang tough and make love
Until the day they put you in the ground.
Rip-roaring power pop with all the deadpan wit and guitar noise of early Weezer and legitimized by the songwriting chops of Tom Petty and Elvis Costello. North by North

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Lost track of these guys for a couple years, then saw the Tiny Desk concert come up in my feed. I've had the album on loop on Spotify since Friday.
This song in particular has been stuck in my head all afternoon. quiksilv26
